Ellen Moore has performed and taught violin in Toronto for over 25 years. She has performed in concert and in recording with international artists including Ray Charles, Anne Murray, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Liza Minelli, Sarah McLachlan, Roger Hodgson, and many others. She has appeared on PBS and CBC television specials and recorded soundtracks for numerous TV and radio commercials.

Ellen has performed for many years in the orchestras of Toronto’s major musical theatre productions, including the original orchestra of Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre, as well as Showboat, Sunset Boulevard, Ragtime, The Producers, and Piaf/Dietrich. She also played on the Canadian cast soundtrack recordings of many of these shows.

She has also performed on a regular basis with many local orchestras such as the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.

Ellen has a Bachelor of Music degree and a diploma from the Orchestral Training Programme at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and she completed a pedagogy course at the RCM with Adelina Burashko. She studied for seven years with one of North America’s foremost violin teachers, David Zafer.
