Bio

Ellen Moore has a Bachelor of Music degree and a diploma from the Orchestral Training Programme at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and she completed a pedagogy course at the RCM with Adelina Burashko. She studied for seven years with one of North America’s foremost violin teachers, David Zafer. 

As a professional performer, she has been a full-time member of the orchestras of several of Toronto’s major musicals, including being part of the original orchestra of Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre, and playing the complete run of Showboat, Sunset Boulevard, and Ragtime. She also played on the Canadian cast soundtrack recordings of these shows. She has performed music in concert or in recording with Anne Murray, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Liza Minelli, Sarah McLachlan, Roger Hodgson, and many others. She has performed on a regular basis with orchestras such as the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and has recorded the soundtracks for numerous television commercials.
She has been running a private teaching studio for more than 20 years.
